Introduction
The Surfit computer program is developed and distributed by Dominique Fleischmann.

The program provides functionality to define and analyse the geometry of differentiable surfaces.

In addition to differentiable surface analysis, Surfit works as a preprocessor for the fluid-elastic analysis program Flexit. Extra features are included in Surfit to assist in defining the geometry and properties of structural beams that will be used by Flexit.

The core feature of Surfit is an engine for computing the geometry of Bezier and Catmull-Rom surfaces based on the coordinates of user-defined control points.

Various GUI features are provided so the user can manipulate the control points, compute the surface geometry, and analyse the properties of the resulting surfaces. Such properties include computation of curvature, curves of intersection, geodesics etc.
